The Mind of a Champion

What separates the champion from his or her competitors? In this inspiring keynote Vince’s message is unwavering — champions think and act differently than the rest of us. And you can learn to think and act like champions and win too!

For starters, Vince says, the champion is a deep optimist, and his or her mind pushes forward, not backward. He tells the story of Matt Stutzman, the Armless Archer. Born without arms and put up for adoption by his mother, Stutzman overcame every adversity.

In 2012 he won the Silver Medal for the U.S. National Archery Team in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. He competes again this summer on the National Team in the Paralympic Games in Rio.

Second, the champion is confident. Many of us have confidence but nothing to compare to the deep-in-the-bones confidence of the champion. Vince tells the story of Stacy Allison’s confident, step-by-step ambition of being the first American woman to summit Mount Everest.

The Six Myths of Success

Americans are fascinated by success. Every year millions of us buy books, attend workshops and webinars, and hire success coaches all for the purpose of being more accomplished at work and happier in our personal lives.

Still, many of us have peculiar ideas about how to attain success. In this entertaining and uplifting keynote Vince discusses six false beliefs, really delusions, that many of us believe about success. Then, he then offers six realities for realizing success in your career and personal life.

Vince first shares with audiences what success is not:

slide-3

  • Success is not luck. Success is a habit, a series of positive thoughts, positive feelings and proactive behaviors practiced habitually.
  • Success is a not secret. Success has been studied and practiced by millions of people for millennia.
  • Success is not a shortcut. There is no “express elevator” to success. Although some succeed more quickly than others, success is a discipline, long-term, step-by-step process.

The Five Commitments: Taking Your Sales Career to the Next Level

The bad news is about 65-to-75 percent of sales professionals wash out within 3-5 years.   And the costs of recruiting, training and laying off sales people are significant.

Ironically, although financial advisors receive some sales training along the way, they rarely receive marketing training.

FiveCommt1

This workshop, The Five Commitments: Taking Your Sales Career to the Next Level, solves that problem. A former financial consultant, Vince takes workshop attendees through a step-by-step process that teaches how to set up a marketing system that generates qualified leads and new clients on a continuous basis.

In addition to the nuts and bolts of marketing, you will learn the “inside game” of marketing,  such as:

  •  How to treat all prospects and clients empathetically
  •  How to overcome procrastination
  •  How to deal with rejection

At the end of this workshop you will be empowered to increase your commissions and fees  by 25 percent or more over the next 12 months.

Speaking on Your Feet without Falling on Your Face

You’ve arrived at that level in your career where nearly everyone around you is just as good, just as talented, as you are. How can you get an edge? How can you stand out? How can you come the attention of executives above you?

Speak up! Of course, that’s easier said than done. Saying the right thing at the right time is a skill most of us wish we could master, and yet most of us think it’s beyond our grasp. Not true! With practice you too can learn this invaluable skill and create visibility for yourself.
